Pysanka Museum is located in Kolomiya, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The only architectural structure in the world in the shape of an Easter egg, the height of which reaches 13.5 meters and a diameter of 10 meters, was built in September 2000 specifically for the preservation and exhibition of works of Easter painting.
The museum was created on the basis of the collection of Easter eggs of the Kolomyia Museum of Folk Art of Hutsul region and Pokuttia named after Yosaphat Kobrynsky.

The museum’s exposition includes more than 6,000 Easter eggs from different regions of Ukraine (Ternopil Oblast, Lviv Oblast, Vinnichchina, Cherkashchina, Kirovogradshchyna, Odeschia) and countries of the world (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Belarus, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, USA, Canada, France and India).
The collection of exhibits also includes Easter eggs with autographs of the first persons of the state.

What is an Easter egg?
Easter egg is a chicken (or goose) egg painted and colored using a special technology.
Easter is a symbol of the Sun, life, love, beauty, rebirth, goodness, happiness and joy.
According to some researchers, Easter eggs existed already in the time of the Ants (3rd – 8th centuries AD) and were a symbol of the solar cult.

Easter eggs were used as a symbol of love, in folk medicine and during various ritual and cult events. With the introduction of Christianity, the Easter egg became a symbol of joy and faith in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Cost of tickets for the exhibition:
for adults: UAH 30, for students, pupils, pensioners: UAH 15.

Excursion service:
for adults 100 UAH. , for students and pupils 80 hryvnias, family excursion: 80 hryvnias, in a foreign language 100 hryvnias.
