The first information about the area is dated to the end of the 14th – beginning of the 15th century. At that time, the Lithuanian princes, taking advantage of the fragmentation of the Golden Horde, seized the lands between the Dnieper and the Dniester to the Black Sea. Lithuanians begin to build fortresses to protect themselves from enemies. One of these fortifications of Prince Vytautas Sokolets appeared at the intersection of the Southern Bug and Mertvovod rivers at the site of the Turkish fortress Chichaklay.
Later, the fortress became an outpost of Polish possessions, and after a long assault it was taken over by the Zaporozhian Cossacks.
The province was divided into 12 counties and the so-called registered cities of Odesa, Mykolaiv, Ochakiv, Dubossary, Berislav.
At the beginning of the 20th century Voznesensk was a district city and was part of the Kherson province. In 1912, the Odesa – Bakhmach railroad was laid through Voznesensk, which significantly revived the economic life of the city. At the end of the 20s of the 20th century. numerous workshops, stations, factories operated in the city, a power plant, mills and dozens of small enterprises were launched. In 1933, the city was fully electrified and radioed, and in 1936, a water pipeline was laid.

Then you can visit the Art Museum named after E.A. Kibrika, which is one of the five graphics museums in the world (Sobornosti Street, No. 14). It is also worth visiting the cultural and exhibition center “Rainduga” – located in a beautiful old mansion. In five halls, decorated with exquisite sculpting, reproductions of paintings by masters of world painting are presented: M.K. Roerich, Jan Vermeer of Delft, A. Dürer, I. Shishkin, I. Aivazovsky and many other artists. In the city, in the area called Bolgarka, the church of the Kazan Icon of the Holy Mother of God of 1891 has been preserved. (R. Luxemburg St., 1)

The summer residence of Nicholas I, 1837, has also been preserved.
On the way, it is worth stopping at the Orthodox Church of Princess Olga. It was built on the initiative of a local entrepreneur Sinyavsky S.I. and has a rather unusual shape.
In addition, the area is rich in natural attractions. Near Voznesensk are the tracts “Vasyleva Pasika”, “Marin Gai” and “Labyrinth”, the reserve of national importance “Racinska Dacha”, as well as the Aktovsk Canyon.
