Koson (Hungarian: Mezokaszony) is a village in the Berehiv district, Transcarpathian region is located near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border Koson-Borobash.
The village has been known since 1333, and Hungarian sources provide information about the village called Kozun since 1332, and already in 1682 the village was known as Koson.
These lands were owned by individual feudal lords, they were repeatedly sold, mortgaged for debts.
In 1566 Koson was devastated by the Crimean Horde, but gradually rebuilt and expanded.
At the beginning of the 18th century the feudal exploitation of the peasants intensified, therefore local residents took an active part in the anti-Habsburg war of 1703-1711.
There is a 14th-century reformation church in the village. In the center of the village there are memorial monuments to those who died during the Second World War and to the victims of the Stalinist regime.
On the territory of the village there is a sanatorium “Koson” with a thermal pool. The water in the pool is yellow-brown in color and refers to high-thermal chloride-sodium waters of medium mineralization and is used for the treatment and prevention of diseases of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, musculoskeletal system, helps with skin diseases and injuries of bones and muscles, promotes the elimination salt from the kidneys.
The water temperature in the pool is 38-39 degrees. Sessions of staying in the water for treatment are 30-40 minutes with a break of 1 hour.
Health and recreation complex “Kosino”
1.5 km from the village of Koson, the health and recreation complex “Kosino”. This is a small tourist and health complex in the middle of an oak grove, where there are four swimming pools, two of them thermal. One, open all year round, partially enters the “Royal Hall”, where you can rest and go to the tea room, shower room, dressing room, massage room or shop of the complex. The second is summer, without transition to the complex. The temperature of both pools is +41°C.
The third pool with an “Aqua bar”, its temperature is +30°C, the filling is fresh water. A swimming pool with musical accompaniment, made in the Mexican style.
The fourth, a children’s pool, is open in the summer. There is a children’s playground near it.
All pools are surrounded by sunbeds, comfortable paths, equipped with fountains and underwater geysers.

How to get there: from Beregovo along the Berehove-Chop highway – 15 km. Before reaching the village of Koson 1.5 km, follow the sign and turn left.
