Hurghada Grand Aquarium is unique in its kind – it is the first aquarium not only in Egypt, but also in the whole world, where a large collection of flora and fauna of the Red Sea is collected. The aquarium was opened in 1989.

The aquarium is divided into different zones. First, you enter the Rainforest. Here you can pet and feed the fish, anyone who wants to can hold a large python, there are also aquariums with turtles and small aquariums with fish nearby.

Next, you get to the mini-zoo, which is located on the street. Huge turtles, monkeys, ostriches and lizards live in the enclosures. And the suspension bridge will be a great place for “Instagram” photos. Do not miss the enclosures with owls, crocodiles and echidnas.

And then we go into the cave and the most interesting thing begins and what is worth coming here for.
One of the best collections of fish in the world is collected here. You will see sea eels, moray eels, sea urchins and seahorses, rays, butterfly fish and angel fish. You can also see dangerous inhabitants of the sea – predatory sharks, large octopuses, surgeon fish.

A very large collection of sea turtles, aquariums with bright and colorful sea corals of all shapes and colors found only in the Red Sea, sea flowers – anemones, starfish and sponges.
In one of the halls there is the main attraction of the Grand Aquarium – the skeleton of a huge whale (archaeocete) from the Wadi Al-Khitan Whale Valley in the Western Desert of Egypt, which lived 36-40 million years ago. Its length is more than 20 meters. It is difficult to imagine what size he was during life, if even his remains are impressive.

Further, the path lies through a glass arch – the highlight of the Grand Aquarium. Sharks, turtles, stingrays will swim directly overhead, and this causes incredible emotions, especially if you get here without a group, but on your own. Cool photos and emotions are guaranteed! And at the end of the route, a huge aquarium awaits you, in which everything is so close and very beautiful.

At certain hours, you can catch divers cleaning corals and feeding the inhabitants of the aquarium. Benches were placed near the aquarium to watch this spectacle. You can watch the marine world for hours.
Children are allowed to hold a python, an iguana, feed fish, a monkey, and a turtle. Of course, caring aquarium workers expect you to thank them for this😊

How to get there.
Almost every hotel where tourists rest in Hurghada can be reached by shuttle taxi for 5 pounds (1 € – 18 pounds) per person one way. But if you are three or more people, it is better to take a taxi for 1-2 € one way. You can immediately arrange with a taxi driver to pick you up in 2-3 hours and take you back to the hotel. As a rule, payment is made on the way back and keep in mind that they never have change and if, for example, you agreed for €4 round trip, but you have a €5 bill, they will not give you change.

How much is admission.
Tickets can be easily ordered online on the aquarium’s website. If you order online, the price will be discounted by 10%. The cost for foreigners is €28.50 per person, but if you order an electronic ticket on the website www.hurghadaaquarium.com, the cost of an adult ticket will be €26, children (3.99-9.99) – €14.25, and children (0 -3.99)- free. Thus, the cost of the visit for a family of 2 adults and one child from 4 years old will be 66.25 €, we also add the cost of the road from 4 €. Thus, an independent excursion will cost about 70 €. Well, the fact that no one will pick you up, give you a little time for an independent inspection and then immediately put you on the bus, it is absolutely priceless.
