How to get there:
Through the tunnel: You can board the train at Copenhagen Airport Station, which is located under Terminal 3. Tickets can be purchased at the station or online at websites. We did exactly that, arriving in Copenhagen we immediately took the train to Malmo, Sweden. In fact, there is no border control, but there are border guards on the train between the two countries and they check documents, we were also asked to have a bank card.

What to see:
Öresund Bridge (Eresun bridge)
Öresund Bridge is not just a connecting element between Malmö and Denmark, but a real engineering gem that unites two great Scandinavian kingdoms. It is the longest road bridge in Europe, more than 8 kilometers, this bridge entered the world records as one of the longest bridge structures in the world.

Central Railway Station (Malmö Centralstation)
Also known as Malmö C, is the main train station of the city of Malmö. It is not only an important transport hub, but also an impressive architectural structure that combines elements of different styles.
No matter how you travel by train or bus, your journey will start from the central station.

Malmö Centralstation was opened in 1858 and became the first railway station in southern Sweden. Malmö Centralstation is not only an important transport hub, but also a popular tourist attraction. It is considered one of the most beautiful stations in Scandinavia.

In the station building, a separate entrance from the side, there is a Coop grocery store, here you can buy everything you need to have a snack, or even a full meal, and it will be cheaper than visiting restaurants. This can be especially relevant for those traveling on a limited budget. The Picadeli fast food chain operates here, ready, tasty and healthy food for affordable money. You pay by weight, you yourself can put everything you like in any variation, any amount and pay for the weight of the total plate.

Malmö Castle (Malmo Castle)
Built in the 16th century, Malmöhus Castle towers over the picturesque harbor of Malmö, Sweden. This majestic Renaissance castle served as a defensive fortification, a royal residence and a prison for centuries. Today, you can walk through the spacious halls of the castle, where kings and queens once walked. Visit exhibits that tell the story of life in the castle over the centuries, from jousting tournaments to sumptuous banquets.

Visit the castle tower to enjoy a panoramic view of Malmö and the Øresund strait. From a bird’s eye view, you can see the picturesque red roofs of the city, green parks and the picturesque harbor.

Slottsparken park (Slottsparken park)
Near Malmö Castle you will find the large and picturesque Slottsparken, which stretches around the residence and has become an excellent place for relaxation and walks. This park impresses with its beauty and greenery, creating an ideal atmosphere for a relaxing holiday. We tell you with full confidence that it is worth walking along it, especially with children, as you will meet interesting sculptures of various heroes along the way.


“Poseidon” (Poseidon), a sculpture depicting the god of the sea, Poseidon, and is located near a pond or fountain in a park. “Happy Girl”, a sculpture of a young girl. Animal sculptures such as birds, hares or deer can also be found in the park. They add a natural element to the landscape of the park and give it picturesqueness and liveliness.


1. Castle (“Slottet”): a historic building originally designed as a museum, it was converted into the main library building in 1946.
2. “Calendar of Light”: a modern glass structure designed by Henning Larsen was added in 1997. It is known for its open, light-filled spaces and panoramic views of the park.
3. Central entrance building: the new building connects the Castle and the “Calendar of Light” and serves as the main entrance to the library.


Lilla torg and Stratorget square (Stortorget Square)
Two squares next to each other in the city center, Lilla torg and Stratorget are picturesque squares in the heart of Malmö’s old town. They are known for their cozy atmosphere, cafes with terraces and historic buildings, making them a popular destination for both residents and tourists.

Stratorget Square is home to the city’s most important building.
Malmö Town Hall (Town Hall)
Malmö Town Hall is a true architectural gem and a symbol of power and authority in this wonderful city. Construction of the town hall began in 1546, and it was originally built in the Gothic style. In the 1860s, the building was restored in the Dutch Revival style we see today.
Unfortunately, the Town Hall building is usually closed to the public. However, you can admire it from the outside and walk around Stortorget.

Optimistic orchestra (Optimistorkestern)
An interesting monument that is worth noticing while walking through the streets of Malmö. This monument depicts a group of musicians playing instruments. This unusual installation symbolizes the optimism and joy that music can bring to our lives, even in difficult times. The monument was created by the artistic duo Ingela Ihrman and Knutte Wester and has become a popular photo and recreation spot for tourists.

Saint Peter’s Church (St. Peter’s Church)
The oldest building in Malmö. It was laid in 1391 and completed in 1410. The church is built in the Gothic style from brick and stone. It served as the coronation church for Swedish kings and queens. Today, St. Peter’s Church is a popular tourist destination. It is also an active church where services and other events are held regularly.

Gustav Adolf Square (Gustav Adolfs torg)
In this square you will find monuments and sculptures that reflect the centuries-old history and cultural impact of Malmö. From the beautiful fountain to the monumental statue of Gustavus Adolphus. It is not only a place for photography and walking, but also a place where you can enjoy the atmosphere of history and culture. The square is a popular venue for events such as concerts, festivals and Christmas markets.



At the end of this embankment, children can look for the famous cat that walks along the edge of the canal ;)


St. Paul’s Church (St. Pauli kyrka)
The Lutheran Church is considered the oldest church in the city, its construction began around 1270. Entrance to the church is free. Photography is allowed, but use flash only with permission.
Church of St. John (St. Johannes kyrka)
The Lutheran Church is one of the brightest examples of Art Nouveau architecture in the city. The interior of the church is impressive with wooden and stone carved roses that symbolize the Christian faith. Entrance to the church is free. Photography is allowed, but use flash only with permission.

Skyscraper (Turning Torso)
It is an impressive architectural structure that stands as a symbol of modern innovative design and engineering in Malmö. This rotating tower impresses with its height and unique shape that attracts attention and captures the imagination. The facade of Turning Torso impresses with its boldness and modernity. Rounded lines, large glass panels and geometric shapes create an impression of movement and dynamics, giving the building a sophisticated modern look. The building withstood a strong storm in 2005, which was a testament to its strength.

Western Harbor (Västra Hamnen)
It is a dynamic coastal area located 2.5 km northwest of Malmö’s Old Town. This area, built on reclaimed land, is the embodiment of modern Malmö, where urban architecture, green spaces and picturesque waterfronts are harmoniously combined.

There are many cozy cafes and restaurants on the embankment and in the picturesque streets of the Western Harbor. Here you can enjoy delicious food and drinks while looking at the picturesque scenery. From the Western Harbor there is a wonderful view of the Åresund Bridge, as well as the Turning Torso skyscraper – a symbol of modern Malmö.


Stapelbäddsparken skate park.
The park is 3000 square meters. The skatepark has been operating since 2005 and is located next to Varvsparken. The park is often used for competitions.

The octagonal lighthouse was built in 1878.

Malmö Synagogue (Malmö synagoga)
It was built in 1903 according to the project of architect John Smedberg. The synagogue has an Art Nouveau and Moorish Revival design, making it one of the few synagogues in Europe that survived after most of them were destroyed during Kristallnacht in 1938.

This is not just a museum, but a real treasury of the city’s history and culture. Housed in the picturesque 16th-century Malmöhus Castle, the museum offers a fascinating journey through time, introducing visitors to Malmö’s rich past and dynamic present. Malmö City Museum is one of the oldest museums in Sweden.
It consists of three separate museums: Malmö Museer, Malmö Konsthall and Malmö Naturhistoriska Museum. The museum has a large collection of artifacts spanning over 10,000 years of history.

Where to eat
We have already written about the Picadeli fast food chain located in the Coop grocery store as a tip near the station. First of all, let’s talk about more accessible and colorful places.
Malmö Saluhall $$ – it’s a place where foodies gather to enjoy a variety of dishes from local producers. Located in the heart of the city, this food market offers not only delicious food but also a memorable atmosphere. The market offers authentic Swedish dishes that you should definitely try. It can be delicious Swedish meat charm, traditional fish dishes or classic Swedish desserts.
In addition, you can enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of the market while interacting with the locals and other visitors.


Opposite the cafe is a 7-Eleven mini-market, where you can buy water, snacks, hot rolls at an affordable price.


Eurovision-2024
This is the 68th song contest to be held in Malmö. This event was made possible thanks to Lauryn’s victory with the song “Tattoo” at Eurovision 2023. This is Sweden’s seventh time hosting the competition, and Malmö is hosting it for the third time.
