“Colossus of Memnon” are two giant statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III located in Kulses, on the west bank of the Nile, in Luxor, Egypt. The statues were carved from a single block of stone and depict a seated pharaoh wearing traditional clothing and headdress, with his hands resting on his knees.
The statues were partially destroyed by earthquakes and other natural disasters, and were also destroyed during construction work. However, to this day, both statues remain among the most impressive archaeological sites in Egypt.
